Paddock Machinery AustraliaBriggs & Stratton Engine Stump Grinder

Paddock Stump Grinder - Powered by Briggs & Stratton
  • Genuine Briggs and Stratton 4 stroke petrol commercial engine
  • Dura-Bore cylinder sleeves for extended Briggs & Stratton commercial warranty
  • Twin belt drive
  • Centrifugal safety clutch
  • Professional trade quality construction
  • Reliable and simple pull start - Magnetron® Electronic Ignition System
  • Extra heavy duty tungsten teeth for longer wear
  • Adjustable handle position

Beware of imitation units offering inferior Chinese engines and fake Honda engines.

Suitable for a large spectrum of stump sizes. With the ability to chip down to 300mm deep the stumps and roots can be virtually removed and then filled in with top soil. Paddock has designed the stump grinder with simplicity in mind. Easy to operate and lends itself to DIY or home use as well as commercial use for landscapers and tradesmen. The heavy duty tungsten teeth are purpose designed and make light work of old and hardened stumps. While extremely hard wearing new tungsten teeth are available and easy to install.

Safety is paramount when performing a cutting and smashing application such as stump removal. While PPE is essential, the comprehensive deflection flaps drastically reduce flying wood chips. An internal clutch mechanism prevents feed back from the blades to the user. A deadman fail safe switch is present on the handle which cuts the engine as soon as the user releases their grip from the handle. A protective guard covers the muffler and the exhaust gas is directed sideways away from the user.

Designed to be low maintenance. The direct drive belts are easily tensioned. There are two grease nipples on the cutting head which are easily accessed and can be greased periodically. The Briggs & Stratton engine can be serviced at home with basic engine oil changes required and the occasional air filter replacement. Alternatively, the engines can be serviced at any small motor mechanic or Briggs and Stratton dealer.

All replacement and spare parts for this stump grinder are available through our parts department in Brisbane.

Compact and plenty of power

Removed around 40 large very hard stumps so far. Grinds down 18" Morton bay ash and Bloodwood stumps no problem, takes a while for the bigger ones but it takes them down no problem.
Make sure you put oil in it before starting!!!

Good quality stump grinder. Have done a few stumps aroun 12" diameter and it ate through them. Time will tell but looks quality so far.

Paddock Stump Grinder - Excellent

The grinder arrived well packed and on time. I just had to affix the main handle and the brake handle, fill with oil, grease the nipples and check the bolts but all were tight. Observing all safety aspects I put it into use. It does a good job! One has to 'feel' the job because the operator cannot see the rotation. That's no problem though. Often clear the chips and be careful of airborne chips. I just took my time and the stump was ground away to the depth/height I wanted. I also used it to grind away some roots. The area is now clear of the stump and roots and raked over as no tree had ever been there. In summary, I recommend this unit for grinding away stumps within its intended market. I am happy with it. Buy it!
