View full detailsScintex is one of Australia's largest online suppliers of 12 volt direct current pump and pumping systems. Our specialty is in diesel transfer as well as heavier liquids like oils and motor oils. While most pumps are suited for room temperature fuels and oils we are proud to be a supplier of the Turbowerx range of high temperature oil transfer pumps and turbo scavenge pumps. Electric 12V pumps can be used from your battery to pump diesel, oil, biodiesel, unleaded petrol and range of other fuels. High flow 12V pumps are available for quick transfer. For on board applications for your car, truck, 4x4 or machinery we have OEM Bosch pumps and Facet fuel pumps. In many cases 12V pumps can be supplied in kit form, incorporating fuel hose, nozzles, flow meters and the fittings required for plumbing. Scintex can provide advice on how you can incorporate a 12V pump into your pumping application. We also supply a large range of stainless steel fuel fittings and fuel discharge & suction hose which can be supplied along with your pump. For water transfer Scintex can offer several options which are ideal for showers, drinking water transfer and small irrigation systems. Our quad water pumps have pressure cutoff switches and the small brass impeller pumps are ideal for marine applications such as bilge pumps. For onboard water and coolant pumps see our range of Bosch pumps.
Scintex is a pump and filtration specialist, with in-house engineers we can supply a pumping system suitable for you application. Our range varies from small 12V & 24V electric pumps to large 240V & 3 Phase pumps as well as hand drum pumps and pneumatic air pumps. Quickly and easily transfer fuels, diesel, oil, biodiesel, water and unleaded petrol. We also provide pumping solutions for the biofuel industry with biodiesel pumps and units for use in SVO conversions. Further to the automotive industry we supply intercooler and turbo oil scavenge pumps.
Using a 12V Oil Pump for pumping oil is a common challenge due to the higher viscosity of the fluid. The viscosity of oil increases at lower temperatures and this often adds to the problem in cooler states around Australia. The table below shows the relationship of oil viscosity with temperature.
As oil viscosity increases, the amount of work or power it takes to move the fluid increases. An analogy to understand this is consider stirring honey in in a jar on a hot day verses taking a jar from a fridge and attempting to mix it, the cold honey will be very difficult to mix and will consume more of your energy (power) to stir. Pumping oil is very similar and this needs to be considered when selecting a pump. Incorrect pump selection can result in equipment damage and faulting.
Diesel oil pumps are often chosen by persons not understanding diesel oil is a very light and low viscosity oil. Diesel oil has a viscosity of between 2-6cP which is relatively low compared to common motor oil which would be 10cP plus. The table below provides some common fluid viscosities at a range of temperatures and tables such as the one below should always be consulted before simply selecting the most cost effective or simply available pump.
Viscosity Chart for Common Liquids at Varying Temperatures.
Where P is the pressure the pump will produce (Pascals(gauge))
ρ is the density of the fluid being pumped (kg/m3)
g is the gravitational force (m/s)
h is the height the fluid will be discharged (meters)
As a worked example, the scintex Quad pump http://www.scintex.com.au/collections/water-pumps/products/fresh-water-pump has a rated discharge pressure of 275kpag for the 17lpm model. To determine the discharge head this pump can produce we simply divide 275,000Pa by the fluid density (1,000kg/m3) and the gravity (9.8m/s) and this gives us a height of 28m. Therefore this pump can be used to pump water to the 4th story of a building without any problems.
For further assistance with determining your ideal pumping requirements Scintex can assist in engineering a pumping solution from our range of diverse offerings.
Great
pump works as stated, running 80m uphill with 15m head @ approx 8-10 lts per minute, filled header tank as required. 360 watts of solar. Delivery was quick. Thanks
Not too heavy, but heavy enough to stay in place, I was not ready for how fast this little guy pumped water out of a dirty pond, too easy!
Prompt service and delivery & the meter slipps into sleep mode when not in use
I have a 5 acre property of natural bush with 100's more around me, we use to have such a bad mosquito problem that my wife refused to go outside at dusk, use the fogger 2 days straight and now into the 3rd week of no mosquitoes at all, brilliant.
The spreader is working well at this point hopefully 🤞 it will continue to work well happy with the spreader
So I needed to slash my paddocks and the chief of finance wouldn’t let me buy a tractor - so I was able to get this past for approval.
First time I used it today - what can I say it’s great! Well crated - Easy to set up and start. Easy to adjust and hitch up. And it cut through the grass like it promised. I would recommend this to anyone who has a UTV or quad bike and doesn’t want to outlay 30k for a tractor and slasher!!

Great little bore pump, so easy to install and wire directly to a solar panel, tempted to buy another one.
Purchased 14months ago. Still goes as good today as it did the day it arrived.
I only live on a small 800sq block. Completely overkill.
But for anyone who has had to shift dirt or rubble around from the front to the back, this thing is a dream for your back. Can't say even after hours of back filling a pool in the back that it has ever run out of power.
The difference in the amount of soil / (anything) you can move compared to a standard manual barrow is insane. Every time my neighbours see me using it they raise their eyebrows., but I know they go home and search for it in secret seething with jealousy. Especially when I attached the front blade to spread sand on the yard - the rake is for suckers!
Is it expensive? sure. Does it feel like it will outlive me? yep, and I'm only 40. Might have to put it in my will.
service was good and brushes received quickly
Great product worked as discribed
Love my new stick rake. Its a game changer in getting my paddocks into shape for the hay harvest.
As about
This is a good purchase! I highly recommend this. From doing home lawns to paddocks to even sporting fields. One of the best on the market can’t fault it
