Submersible Well Pump
Description
Ideal for narrow water wells and bores, these low voltage submersible pumps are handy for moving water. Options to run from a 12V or 24V battery and integrate a solar panel for a basic system without the power bill !
6L/min Water Bore DC Submersible Pump
This high quality submersible pump is ideal for pumping water from deep bores and pits to tanks, ponds, dams or troughs. The ability to produce high discharge pressures at a low flow rate means you can run the pump throughout the day without supervision.
The unique design of the diaphragm pump rather than your typical impeller pump means the pump will not be damaged if it is left to run dry and this also allows some solids to be pumped without damage. Being a diaphragm style of pump, the pump performance is not significantly impacted by discharge pressure and users can expect ~6L/min flow under all operating conditions and back pressures. Users should avoid throttling the pumps outlet flow as this will only increase motor amp draw as this is a diaphragm positive displacement style of pump, not centrifugal.
These pumps come with a wire tail which is ready for you to extend to whatever length you require. Simply join and waterproof your connection. If you're lowering the unit down a well it's recommended you hang the pump from a rope or cable and there are tabs at the top of the pump to connect this.
These pumps are ideal for farms and remote properties needing to pump water where typical 240V power isn't readily available. Ideal for stock feed water or simply trickle feeding water tanks. Can be used for irrigation and hydroponics. Use in creeks and dams to transfer water great distances or elevations to your cabin, hut or tent.
How to power this pump
Users are always advised to seek the advice from a confident low voltage electrician when designing their solar pumping system. As a simple guide, it is recommended users consider a battery and solar panel used in conjunction with a solar charge regulator/controller. The charge regulator/controller ensures the voltage from the solar panel does not damage the battery. A solar control can also be set to turn the pump on at daylight and cycle the pump on and off at intervals if required.
For reliable operation, it's recommended users look to solar panels with a 200w rating or more. Whilst a 200w panel theoretically should output 16 amps+ of current at 12v in perfect conditions, during testing we find the output lower especially when mixed with some cloud. Having a larger panel means the battery will charge sooner in the morning and be less effected by altering weather conditions. Options to order a solar panel and charge regulator/controller can be found at the top of this product page.
