Sealed Pressure Switches
Description
Sealed Pressure Switches
A pressure switch opens or closes a corresponding switch contact as soon as a preset pressure is reached. Depending on the requirement, pressure switches are used with mechanical or electrical switch contacts, with or without displays and with various setting possibilities.
Each pressure switch has a pressure set it will open and close at, for example SSPS085 has settings of 85PSI/105PSI. This means if you power your compressor via the pressure switch, it will run and build pressure until the 105 PSI set point is reached at which point the circuit will open and the compressor will stop. As the air in the tank is used and the pressure falls, the switch will reactive and close reactivating the compressor at the lower set point of 85 PSI. The pressure switch is ideal for maintaining a on-board air tank at pressure. Different switches provide different setting options depending on your end use requirements.
Ideal for use with the range of Scintex and Sherpa 4WD air compressors and air tanks. The thread is 1/4" NPT and matches the our range of air compressor tanks.
Note, we recommend pressure switches are used in conjunction with a relay. The relay should be used to switch the higher amperage loads such as the compressor while the pressure switch can be used to activate the relay as the relay load is low.
