3-Port Fuel Selector Valve – 12V/24V, 1/2" NPT
Description
Electric 3-port fuel selector valve for switching between fuel lines or tanks in compatible automotive, 4WD, marine and machinery applications. Available in 12V or 24V DC versions, the valve features a machined aluminium body, Viton seals, 1/2" NPT ports and a selection of included hose-tail fittings.
12V & 24V 3-Port Fuel Selector Valve
This electrically operated 3-port valve provides a convenient way to select between two fuel lines using a 12V or 24V electrical control signal. It can be used in suitable dual-tank and auxiliary fuel system installations for switching either the fuel supply line or fuel return line.
The valve incorporates three 1/2" NPT ports with a 12mm internal orifice and is supplied with hose-tail fittings selected to suit your installation.

Fuel Tank Changeover Applications
The valve can be incorporated into compatible dual-tank fuel systems to electrically select between two fuel lines or tanks.
One 3-port valve switches either the fuel supply or the fuel return circuit. Where an installation requires both supply and return lines to change between tanks, separate switching arrangements will be required for each circuit.
Default Valve Position
Important: When electrical power is disconnected from the valve, it returns to its default position with Ports 1 and 2 connected/open.
The valve should be installed and wired with this default flow path considered as part of the overall fuel-system design.
Optional On/Off Configuration
The 3-port valve can also be configured for suitable applications where simple electrically controlled on/off flow is required. This can be achieved by fitting an appropriate 1/2" plug to Port 3.
Ensure the resulting flow path and default unpowered position are appropriate for the application before installation.
Included Hose-Tail Fittings
The valve is supplied with three hose-tail fittings to simplify connection to common fuel hose sizes. Select the required fitting size when ordering.
- 1/4" hose tail
- 5/16" hose tail
- 3/8" hose tail
- 1/2" hose tail
- 5/8" hose tail
The 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" and 5/8" options are supplied as elbow hose tails. The 1/2" option is supplied with straight hose-tail fittings.
Note: Some fitting sizes may be supplied in brass.
Fuel & Fluid Compatibility
The aluminium valve body and Viton seals make the valve suitable for a range of compatible fuel and oil applications, including installations involving diesel, petrol, biodiesel and selected oils.
For alternative fuels, vegetable oils, solvents or other fluids, compatibility should be confirmed for the complete valve and fitting materials under the intended temperature, pressure and operating conditions before installation.

Installation Considerations
Correct fuel-system design is important when installing a selector valve. Confirm the required supply and return flow paths, hose sizes, fitting compatibility, electrical voltage and default valve position before installation.
All fuel hose, fittings and associated components should be suitable for the fuel type, operating pressure and temperature. Install the valve securely and away from excessive heat, moving components and locations where it may be damaged.
6-Port Fuel Selector Valve Option
For dual-tank systems requiring coordinated switching of both fuel supply and return lines, a 6-port motorised selector valve may provide a more suitable solution.
