Description
The YANMAR YDP diesel water pump range offers heavy-duty 2", 3" and 4" pump sets for clean water transfer, semi-trash and full-trash applications. Powered by proven YANMAR air-cooled diesel engines, these pumps are built for demanding agricultural, construction, industrial and remote-area water transfer applications.
Available with recoil or electric start options, each pump is mounted in a robust protective frame and fitted with a large 13L fuel tank for extended operating time between refuelling.

Choosing the Right YANMAR Pump
Clean Water Transfer Pumps
Clean water transfer models are designed for moving relatively clean water where large solids are not expected. Typical applications include transferring water between dams, tanks and storage systems.
These pumps still use robust cast iron internal components and can tolerate relatively small suspended particles, but they are best suited where water quality is reasonably clean.
Semi-Trash Pumps
Semi-trash pumps sit between clean water transfer pumps and full-trash pumps. They use more robust pump components and larger solids handling capability, making them suitable for dirtier water without the additional weight and cost of a full-trash design.
They are a practical choice for many general farm, drainage and construction applications where some silt, sediment and debris may be present.
Full-Trash Pumps
Full-trash pumps are designed for the most demanding dirty-water applications. They use heavier-duty pump casings and impellers and are configured to pass larger suspended solids with a reduced risk of blockage.
This makes them particularly suitable for construction sites, excavation pits, dewatering applications and other situations where water quality may be unknown or highly contaminated with sediment and debris.
Why Choose a Diesel Water Pump?
Diesel-powered pumps are popular for remote and high-use applications due to their fuel efficiency, strong low-speed torque and long service life.
YANMAR air-cooled diesel engines are well proven worldwide and are especially suited to applications where a pump may need to operate for long periods away from mains power.
The engines used across this pump range operate at up to 3,600rpm and are matched to the pump ends to deliver strong flow and pressure performance.

- L70N6 – approximately 6.0hp
- L100N6 – approximately 9.0hp
The engine fitted depends on pump size and pump type, with larger or heavier-duty trash pumps using the larger engine options.
Optional Mine Specification Upgrade
Scintex can upgrade selected pump sets for mine-site applications. Previous upgrades have included changes such as:
- Dual-pole lockable battery isolation
- Mounted fire extinguisher
- Modified electrical wiring
- Additional guarding to suit site requirements
